This is to see if I can have an appointment with you in the next day or two. I went for a walk on Christmas day, and developed muscle weakness in the right lower leg (i.e., knee, weak Achilles tendon, which has happened before) and a sense of loss of balance (which hasn't happened before), and we slowly finished our walk for the next half-hour. Since then, things have every day gotten a little worse (lower right leg worse, weakness and some loss of fine-grained muscle control in my lower right arm), and Saturday (12/30) at 1:30 PM I finally called Kaiser to see if I should see someone, because I couldn't tell if these were simply muscle/tendon problems or symptons of a small stroke. They gave me an appointment for yesterday (12/31) with Dr. Lazu, and he examined me, and said that the problem was very localized, and he thought it was muscles/tendons, but he gave me a neurological appointment for Friday just to make sure. I still don't have an opinion about muscles only vs. neurological, but I could definitely use some medical help. I am not in pain, but I am moving around my house very slowly, mostly holding on to things, and my right arm is slow and not always accurate in carrying things or in typing this into my laptop. It seems quite possible to me that my right Achilles tendon, right knee ligament, and right arm muscle all have problems, but I could use some medical advice about what to do. I went on the web to see if I could make an appointment to see you, and they gave me an appointment for January 25. I am going to call the advice nurse to see if I can get an appointment to see you before then. Advice? Thanks, Sally Floyd 510-848-7930 (h), 510-333-9781 (c) http://www.icir.org/floyd/
