The ACIRI security policy is that hosts should enforce good security. This means not exchanging anything sensitive unencrypted end-to-end and, as far as possible, not trusting IP addresses for host authentication. The upside of this is that we have no problems with anyone connecting anything to our network. The downside is that if you connect to our network, you should expect your traffic to listened to and not use telnet, ftp (other than anonymous ftp), or mail programs that exchange passwords in-the-clear.
WaveLan is supported on FreeBSD, Linux, and pretty much all Windows variants. The ACIRI network is using DHCP to allocate IP addresses and configure nameservers and default routes.
wicontrol -i wi0will typically give you information about the state of the wavelan setup.
The main wavelan site should have drivers for the newer cards.
